👉 Soon we'll have great news to share! SalesTim is about to get lots of new features and improvements. As we're facing a major growth, we are transitioning from our legacy infrastructure to a completely new one, that is bringing many new capabilities, a higher scalability, and improved security.
Just to mention the major ones: Private Channels Support, Governance APIs, New Infrastructure, etc. (we'll share more soon)
🤨 What do I need to do?
To get this update you will need to perform some quite simple operations:
For the "Home" App Package: you'll need to update the Home App, with the latest package. You can follow the Package Update Doc on our Help Center, it will take just a few minutes.
For the SalesTim App Package: If you have SalesTim installed through the Microsoft Teams App Store, good news, you won't have anything to do as the upgrade is fully automated and is already done. Go in Salestim, in "About" Tab the version should be 2.0.195. (You might need to refresh the app or restart Teams, due to caching mechanism)
If you haven't, meaning that you have installed SalesTim by manually uploading a package to your app catalog, you'll have to delete your existing SalesTim package in favor of the SalesTim App from the Microsoft Teams App Store.
To do so, install Salestim from the store in clicking here or open Microsoft Teams and open "Store" > "Built for ..." > "SalesTim" > "..." > "Delete". Finally, go to the store, search for "SalesTim", and simply add the app. No worries, all your settings, templates and parameters will be preserved.
❔ Why these changes?
The legacy SalesTim App is accessible through prd.salestim.io while the new one is accessible via app.salestim.io. For security reasons, this change requires a package upgrade. Updating the App Packages will simply target the new app with all the improvements already live in production.
👩👧👧 Will end-users be impacted?
No. Doing these changes as described, won't impact end-users in any way. The transition has already been done several times, and every new SalesTim customer is already using the latest version for several days now.
🔜 When should I do this update?
This update needs to be done before July 31st. After this date, prd.salestim.io won't be accessible anymore, and therefore, any legacy App Package (Home or SalesTim Standalone) will cease to function.
Starting June 22nd, if you connect to SalesTim as an Admin with a legacy App Package, you'll get a notification inviting you to do this update. Once this update is done, you'll get a new notification in the App summarizing all the new notable features packed in.
If the change is not done by July 23rd, all users connecting to SalesTim, will receive a notification while connecting to the SalesTim Home App. The notification is only targeted for users using the legacy home app, after July 23rd.
